Bored at the Museum
An ongoing project by artist Navid Nuur, Bored at the Museum is a website where Nuur collects images found on the Internet, depicting the “creative boredom” that often seizes visitors to traditional museum spaces.
Together with Nuur we devised a grid of tight-fitting diamond shapes that allow his monogram (two intersecting Ns) to blend into the design, while at the same time showcasing the images.
The site relies heavily on HTML 5 technologies such as the Canvas element. It is completely responsive, and compatible with anything from phones to tablets to kiosk displays. On the frontend, we used Paper.js to simplify our Canvas drawing routines.
If you have any images of yourself while bored at a museum, be sure to send them in.
